  1. Thanks for taking the time to share your adventures with us. My big wish list item is the Aqua Quest King Kamo tarp. I picked up an SAS book and canteen set for my young Tiger Cub nephew, hopefully we get the chance to camp together in the new year. A very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and everyone.

  3. Hé Gray Bush! Happy holidays for you and your family. My biggest outdoor christmas present would be a hiking / camping backpack like a Eberlestock for those multiple day hikes, however.. You've always got to have something to wish for so for me it probably will be something like a nice folding knife that I can use for EDC and also at work as a EMT. Again all the best and cheers from the Netherlands. Harm

  22. Merry Christmas, Luke. It was a bit of a surprise to see this in my email, but it wasn't difficult to think what piece of gear would make my Christmas the best in recent history. Since our household income is about to be cut in half, I seriously doubt I'll ever get this bag of goodies, but here it is: The 12 Survivors Shire 2P. I ADORE that tent because it's OD green, which means it melts into the foliage most of the year, it has two convertible rainfly porches, one on each side, an X-shaped single-pole skeleton that would go up instantly(and painlessly for me since I have 4 degenerated discs), and it weighs in at 5.8 pounds, which is a little over half the weight of my current tent, which I swear is an exercise of pain and frustration to set up. It was advertised as having clips rather than sleeves, but it has BOTH, which turns setup into something less akin to camping and more resembling surgery, and by the time it's up, my spine feels like somebody's been having his jollies with a nail gun from my tailbone to my shoulder blades. Because the Shire 2P is so dead quick and simple to set up, even thinking about it during a wet, cold, bad back day feels almost as good as my last ER happy shot.

  43. First off, Happy Holidays Luke, Sue and family.
Your reviews of the various items over the past couple years has brought me to the realization on how overweight I was backpacking. A lot of your gear reviews introduced me to new lines/products and companies. Thank you.
As for Christmas I do not wish for anything for me under the tree as I already have everything I need, but as we head into another great year of backpacking all I would like to see is the essential gear for my daughter so that she may see and enjoy nature like I have for many years.
Happy Holidays to all and may our camping season via 2016 be a safe and happy one.
