  1. Thank you for sharing the incredible coastline of Maine with us, Luke and Susie! With the exception of the mosquitoes, that must have been a truly inspiring and wonderful hike. I'll be sure to wear a "full body no see-um suit" when I go up there :) I'll have to contact my niece in Bangor to see if she and her husband have hiked the trail...they kayak and canoe camp all summer. That coastline looks so much like the Oregon coast between Bandon and Coos Bay. In Bandon, you'll be treated to the sights and sounds of thousands of sea lions on the offshore rock islands. In 1969 as a young medic I was stationed on a mountain top (radar site) and every time I walked out of the Dispensary door I was treated to a panoramic Pacific Ocean view. Something about ocean views that excites and inspires the soul. I'm hiking in West Virginia this weekend and I spent this past evening spraying my tarp, hammock, well, all my gear and clothes with Permethrin. I have citronella candles, a bottle of Percaridin, wrist bands, a head net and a new PYS full hammock encircling bug net packed...an extra 4 pounds of protection. Sucks to have to carry all that extra stuff. Anyway, you guys rock and I'm glad you're back to drinking Taster's Nasty...I have 6 packets of it in my food bag :) It's not too bad as I add vanilla creamer in mine.
