This Product Has Blown My Mind & It's Only $60 - BRS-32 Double Burner St...

I will be honest, I've never seen a stove like this and the fact that it costs only $60 blows my mind!

The other day I received an email from a viewer who was telling me about an interesting stove that they had come across. I went and checked it out and what do you know, the stove is indeed wild!

It features two burners, folds and unfolds….but not in a way that you might be thinking. I personally have never seen a stove fold and unfold in such a manner.

I was so intrigued that I ordered one, I've had it for a few weeks and have begun testing it out.

BRS-32 Stove Info :

The company BRS has a good reputation for making stoves of all types. The BRS 3000T is very popular with the ultralight crowd - if you have seen that stove you know why, it is TINY!

It’s easily one of the smallest stoves out on the market and it’s inexpensive, $17

Fuel : ISOButane out of the box - with adaptors it can run on Butane alone, propane and so on.

BTU’s : 6600BTU’s x 2

Dimensions Stored : Measure

Dimensions Set-up : 16.33"L x 7.36"W x 3.74"H

Materials : Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Copper

Weight : 2lbs 4.2oz for the stove and the case adds 4oz.

Price : At the time of filming, the price of this stove is $60 and get this, you can buy it on Amazon.

Impressions :

quality - seems to be excellent especially for the money.

Materials : while the quality of the stove is good, I will say some of the materials are a bit soft. For an example, there are Tin-like panels which can be bend easily.

Size as far as carrying goes - impressive considering this is a double burner stove

Size as far as using the stove - the burner heads are fairly close together so if you plan to cook to use both burners at the same time, the pans needs to be medium in size or a combination, one smaller one and one larger one. That sort of thing. Two large pans won’t sit safely on the stove

Even small cups can fit on this stove with no issues

Weight - not bad at all for what this stove is.

Ease of use - excellent

Lack of igniter - I wish the stove had an igniter for each burner but it doesn’t - make sure to have a lighter or matches with you if you are taking this stove out.

Adjuster works very well.

Built in windscreen for light winds and breezes

Very stable

Good carry case

Adapters can be used as the stove can run on virtually anything other than white gas.

Stove has a preheating tube to assist with using this stove in cold conditions.

Experiences - so far my experiences with this stove have been excellent. It runs very well, handles light winds with ease, offers plenty of power for most cooking tasks…or at least, those that I have done so far.

It’s not the most powerful stove out there but it only costs $60. Most double stoves cost a lot of money, not this and that’s impressive.

Almost as impressive as the way that the stove folds and unfolds.

This is a prime example of fresh thinking in the outdoor space and I love it so far. Smart design, good performance….no major complaints….So far.

My testing continues and my review will be coming in a few months - with that being said, I would say this is a major go - I really like it.

OneTigris Bastion Tarp

Review Pros :

Size of the tarp stored and set-up is great. This is plenty big and offers a lot of protection.

Excellent materials

Very lightweight

Plenty of tie off points around the body as well as the top

Excellent color - love the green

Has offered excellent wind protection with no issues with winds up to 25mph - I believe it could handle more but haven’t had the opportunity to test in such.

One aspect to this tarp that I was worried about was stretching and that’s because it is made from a Silnylon which is notorious for this to happen when it gets wet. The thing is, not all silynylon variants stretch to the same degree - Whereas the Fjallraven tarp that I recently reviewed was HORRIBLE in this regards, the OT tarp wasn’t bad at all. It would stretch some but it was relatively minor. By the way, Fjrallven is going back to the drawing board with their tarp and it’s all because of TOGR.

I spoke of this in detail on Paterson and with my supporters here on YT but in a Nutshell, having a tarp that stretches as bad as the Fjallraven tarp doesn’t make sense - it didn’t to me and it doesn’t to the company and their are committed to providing a better product. More on this coming soon.

Large easy to utilize tie-off points. The OT Bulwark tarp features very small tie off points whereas this tarp doesn’t. The Bulwark was waterproof though….

Review Cons :

Importantly this tarp has been a complete letdown in the waterproof department. I’ve had so many issues that I suspect that there is some sort of manufacturing issue with this product and I would recommend staying clear from purchasing it.

At the top of the tarp are three tie off points on the other side of those points the tarp features seam tape - unfortunately there are issues with the tape and the tarp leaks from each of these points profusely.

If it leaked from one I would say that it’s a one-off sort of thing but because every single one of them leak this insinuates the possibility of a wider spread issue.

Based on my experiences with this tarp, the price I paid on Amazon makes sense but the $100 price on the OneTigris web site is crazy expensive…that’s if the tarp didn’t leak. But it does and for certainly now that we know this product has problems, it isn’t worth the Amazon price either.

For the same full retail price, you can get a 10 x 10 tarp from AquaQuest - a tarp that’s double treated with silicone and PU, it will feature a 5,000MM waterproof rating.

The included guylines aren’t very good.

This is Different! - Boundless Voyage Titanium Mess Kit - Ultralight Kit...

What I have here today is a titanium mess kit that’s quite interesting - as you are about to see this is an ultralight versatile kit - versatile in multiple ways.

With this kit we have two containers, one I call a pot the other I call a cup.

Review Pros :

- Price is fair in my opinion when you consider the fact that you are getting a 600ml pot along with a 300ml pot.

- Very lightest

- Small form factor

- Excellent quality - no issues with heating - warping, cooking, edges, etc.

- Pot and Cup are of a good size for most tasks.

- Very versatile kit – take with you what you need depending on the trip – you can take the pot for cooking, the cup for coffee or the rest of the kit if you have others with you or if you need both components.

- Very smart design - the way that the system stakes is smart.

- The way that the system can hang over a fire is also smart.

- Good size storage bag - it fits everything with ease.

- Enough room inside of the large pot for additionals.

- Good handles - comfortable enough

- Grab tab on the lid stands up and doesn’t fall over.

- Stable system - flat bottom

Review Cons :

- Lid doesn’t have a vent so once boiling begins there can be some chaos.

- The shape of the kit makes stirring whatever it is that you are heating up or cooking difficult. Not impossible but it does take a bit more work. In a round pot or cup, you can get some good swirling action - the shape of this system isn’t conducive of swirling.

Summary :

Boundless Voyage has impressed me with this kit - it’s ultralight, high quality and I can easily recommend it.

The full kit weighs very little and can be scaled down based upon your needs and the adventure that you are going on.

Considering the materials and the design, the price is fair and ultimately, there isn’t much to complain about; I can easily recommend it.

BTW, this mess kit is being sold by Boundless Voyage - other Chinese companies offer this exact same kit with the exact same components - the only difference is the logo.

In other words this is a re-label - I can’t comment about the similar products. I suspect they will be exactly the same but there could be quality control differences.

A Stealth Camping Tent for Less Than $90! Snugpak Ionosphere Alternative...

For the longest time I have been a big fan of the Snugpak Ionosphere tent - that was the case when it was a budget friendly tent that sold for around $100. Over the years, Snugpak has raised the price and currently it is being sold in the USA for over $300. $300 for a one person, bivy style tent that is made from Polyester.

That’s complete and total nonsense.

Since Snugpak raised the prices of their gear and lowered the quality, I have been looking for a good alternative to what I considered to be an excellent tent, an excellent stealth camping tent - I’m talking about the Ionosphere) - finally I may have finally found it.

This is the Winterial Bivy tent and today, we are taking a look at it together.

In this episode I will teach you how to look beyond marketing BS and how to tell whether or not a tent is going to be good for the type of adventure that you are going to go on.

Why is this important? Just because a company is selling a tent that they claim is the perfect 3 season summer tent doesn’t mean that it’s true. In fact there are a ton of companies that are marketing and selling tents that they claim are for warm conditions that are in truth the opposite of what you really want to use in the warmer months.

With what I’m about to go over, it will be the difference between being comfortable in the outdoors and being absolutely miserable.

Which One To Choose? - OneTigris Tetra Tents Review

Versions : Larger version is called the 160 and the smaller version is called the 130.

The larger version includes a center pole, the smaller version doesn’t. The larger version features an integrated inner whereas the smaller doesn’t. The larger version has a snow skit which the smaller version doesn’t.

Review Pros :

Since these tents are virtually the same, many of the pros apply to each model.

- Excellent quality for both tents

- Both are exceptionally easy to set up

- Price - for both tents, you are getting top notch materials, great designs and both are very fairly priced.

- Good amount of space with the larger tent offering even more.

Even the small tent is large enough to house a cot. The larger version is going to be a great option for taller individuals

- Excellent weights for both tents

- Small form factors for both

- Totally Waterproof

- Great Ventilation

- The porch is a great feature to this tent as it does offer some protection from wind and the elements such as rain.

Review Cons :

- Poor Quality Cords on the tent stakes.

- The large vent in the back of the tents isn’t sealable.

- Smaller Version : No pole is included

- Limited Use of the Porch

- With the larger tent, it's only a 1 person, not 2.

- Bizarre guy line points - limits use of tent. OneTigris really needs to fix this with future versions of this tent - this is a big oversight.

Which would I select to purchase?

With the two Tetra tents, as you can see they are very close to being the same with the ultimate difference being the bug inner.

If I was to pick one of these tents, the larger version makes the most sense to me as it includes a pole, has the integrated bug inner and is slightly larger.

The bug inner is the most important aspect as it is going to allow the tent to be used year around.

To summarize, the Large Tetra tent is the best tent that I tested in 2022; it’s good, really good and has very few flaws. Speaking of the flaws and issues, I hope that OT can address them as these tents are close to being just about perfect.
