I Took a Look at a Wild Instant Tent - WhitSunday Instant Set Up Tent

The other day I was scrolling through Amazon looking for interesting tents and I came across this. This is from a company that I am sure you all have heard of before…

Whit-Sunday!

(Yeah Right)

What I found so interesting about this tent was the impressive ventilation, the 2 doors and 4 awnings along with an instant setup.

When I saw this shelter, I was thinking, this would be awesome for underneath a big tarp...

$110 is Hard to Justify - Helinox Chair One Compared to the Competition

This is the Chair that all of the other companies have copied for years.
The question is, is it worth the high price tag?

How does it compare to the OneTigris Chair?  What about the offerings from Sportneer?

This is Luke's Agenda Free Review of the Helinox Chair One.

Helinox Chair One Agenda Free Review

What it is :
This is a fairly lightweight chair made for camping and backpacking purposes.  Over the years, I have reviewed many chairs that are similar but in this case it is coming from the company known as Helinox.  Why take a look at this chair if other chairs are similar? Good question, you know all of those other foldable chairs that are out on the market?  They are based upon the design of this chair which was originally released in 2012.

Chairs
As I mentioned, Helinox makes a number of chairs and with these, they fall into categories based on weight;
There are three categories;

Ultra Lightweight
Lightweight
And High-backed

The Helinox Chair One falls into the Lightweight category and here are the stats;

SPECIFICATIONS :
Assembled                            Packed
Height :  25.5 in                            3.5 in
Width :  19.5 in                             13.5 in
Depth  :  20 in                                4.5 in
Distance from Ground :               10.5”
Weight : 2lbs 1oz with bag.          2 lbs. 2 oz.

Capacity    320 lb
Warranty    5 years

Colors : Lots of color options including camos;
Multicam, black, coyote brown, tie dye, blue, red, green and so on.

Materials : Aluminum - I couldn’t find specifics online but I believe they have gone primarily with a nylon for the fabric.  Aluminum for the frame.

Price : $110

Comparing The One to the Competition - Go over stats and then talk about rating each for quality - Helinox, OneTigris and then Sportneer

Helinox Chair One : 2lbs 1oz
$110 - 320lbs

Sportneer Folding Chair : 1lb 15oz
$29 - 330lbs

OneTigris Folding Chair (low back version) : 2lbs 8oz - $60 - 330lbs
….
Chair One Pros :
Excellent quality chair - everything feels strong, sturdy and top notch in terms of materials.
Easy to setup but could be easier
Easy enough to break down
Very Comfortable
I like Helinox is offering color options; there is a chair for just about any preference.

Works well inside of a truck when overlanding, inside of a hot tent or around a camp fire
Excellent weight limit
Good height for average height individuals
Good size storage bag, just enough to get the chair in there without much of a struggle.

Cons

Small Con : There are no pull loops to assist with putting the chair together or breaking it down which is a shame.  I’ve made this recommendation before, for an example, with the Sportneer company, I suggested this, they added the assisting loops to their products and it makes a true difference when setting up and breaking them down.

Big Con : The price of this chair is high when you compare it to the competition and that’s going to be an obstacle that is going to be hard to get over. The Sportneer chair while not the coolest in terms of color is basically the same weight, same dimensions, the same materials, the same weight limits but is only $30. $30 compared to $110….

Summary
Many years ago when the Chair One hit the market, there was no competition and Helinox could easily ask whatever price they wanted but now, things are different.  There are plenty of companies who offer basically the same product but at substantially lower prices.

So you have a decision to make; do you buy the more expensive Helinox chair which has the best of materials and best of construction or do you save a lot of money and go with the chair that has slightly lower levels of quality, materials and construction?

I respect the fact that Helinox has come up with this design but after testing out similar products from other companies, it is a hard sell. $110 is a lot for chair when everything does exactly the same thing for less and in some cases, even better.

Sizes : By the way, I mentioned that Helinox has three different categories of chair, within those categories there are also numerous models.  With the Chair One, there is a XL version, a Mini Version, a “Tactical Version” and so on.

Does it Impress? Teton Sport Quick Hiker Vista 2 Tent - First Look

After experiencing just how good the Teton Sports Mountain Ultra Tent was, I decided to check out a car camping tent from the company.

This is the Teton Sports Quick Hiker Vista 2 - a sort of pop-up tent that's certainly different than most tent designs.

Teton Sports Vista 2 Quick Tent - Car Camping Tent

What it is : Over the last couple of months i have been impressed with the quality of the products coming out of the company which is known as Teton Sports.

The Mountain Ultra Tent is a budget friendly tent, that is fully waterproof and features some of the best quality that I have seen with a tent.

Best I have been so impressed so far, I decided to take a look at other Teton Sports products and one of those products is the focus of this video.

What I have here is the Teton Sports Vista 2 Quick Tent; it is a 2 person, 2 door tent and features an extremely fast setup and breakdown process.

Setup Measurements : 82" x 60" x 41"
Weight : 6.3 lbs
Packed Measurements : 33” x 7” x 7”

Materials
The Fly : 75D 190T Taffeta
That is all that is listed but I suspect the floor is made of a polyester material of some sort.

Price : Retail $120

Colors : There is an impressive variety of colors in which this tent is available :

grey and silver
Brown
Green
Yellow

Accessories : Teton has a number of available accessories for the quick hiker series of tents including cots and an elite rain fly which goes to the ground when the tent is being used on a cot.

Available Versions
Quick Tent 1 Person
Quick Tent 2 Person
And there are sets which feature a quick tent and a cot.
……..

Features
- Pops up in an instant and locks into place
- Fits perfectly on two Universal Camp Cots
- Standard rainfly included
- Elite rainfly available for purchase - sold separately
- Lifetime Warranty

The new Vista Quick Tent, by TETON Sports, sets up in an instant. Simply roll it out, lock your poles and pull the drawstring. The locking hub keeps your tent up until you are ready to take it down. These tents are made to use on the ground or fit on top of either the TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Cot (Vista 1) or two TETON Sports Universal Camp Cots (Vista 2) for a camping experience that is out of this world.

Two-way zippers make getting in and venting your tent a breeze. And a gear loft holds a light and small essentials. A standard tent-length rainfly comes with each tent. Look for the Elite Rainfly, sold separately, that covers the tent and cot(s) all the way to the ground. Stay dry, get outdoors and enjoy life.
……..
Thoughts and Impressions :

In Video -

I have high hopes for the Teton Sports quick tent that it will have no issues when it comes to waterproofing and can be a recommended car camping - overlanding tent.

For the Money, This is Hard to Beat! - Czech Military 3 Piece Sleep System

Luke is here today to review the Czech Military Three-Piece Sleep System; this is an OLD SCHOOL piece of military surplus and that will be obvious the moment that you see the overall design of it. Old school but still very functional and highly versatile. Also, it's inexpensive!

This is an Agenda Free Review and it begins now!

This is Seriously Cool - Czech Military 3 Piece Sleep System

Agenda Free Link : eBay.com and military surplus sites

Price : This is going to vary greatly; you can find used military surplus for around $40, new is around $90. Those are common prices but you can find swings all over the net. I purchased mine 7 years ago for around $20.

Color : Olive Drab, blue linen and yellow blanket

Layers and Materials :
Nylon Bivy bag - this is a bivy style protection layer that is both wind and moisture resistant.

Linen Liner, this is known as the hygiene layer - it also makes the entire kit more comfortable as you don’t have to come directly into contact with the wool blanket which tends to feel scratchy against your skin.

Wool Blanket

Zipper on the left side

Weight : 7lbs

Measurements :
Nylon outer Bivy with side zipper, 80" x 28"
Linen Liner is 76" x 61"
Wool Liner is 76" x 61"

Features:
Czech military issue
Both liners button together

Temp Rating : Around 35F is my limit with this setup as is; the 3 piece kit, socks, pants, shirt and 40F is good for me. I run hot though so your mileage is going to vary. For colder natured folks, 45F is a reasonable rating.

With good thermal layers and/or insulated clothing, it could be used in much colder conditions.

Review Pros :

Great military surplus value.

Very cool piece of old school military surplus.

Excellent for warmer weather and early fall trips.

Very versatile kit - 40f is my rating for this kit as is but there is enough room to add additional layers; sleeping bag liner, sleeping bag or an additional blanket. A Woobie works great inside of this kit. It doesn’t take much and this is a 10F sleep system.

You can put a sleeping pad inside of the cover under the blanket and linen.

Bulky but for car camping and short distances, it makes sense.

Good compression straps.

Great for emergency use - throw one in the car for winter and you have a valuable piece of gear just in case of an emergency.

Deploys quickly

Good fit for the majority of users.

Easy to pack up

It saved us time and made inspection much easier, so we just unrolled them at night and slept in that.

Easy to store.

Decent amount of space for the shoulders and legs.

Works great on the ground with a sleeping pad or on a cot by itself. It’s thick enough to block a good amount of cold air from underneath.

Good weather resistance - wind and rain.
Not waterproof but can handle some moisture before wetting through.

Easy to take apart and wash what you need to.

Because of the overall design these make great sleeping bag rolls for not only adults but kids as well. It’s a super inexpensive way to gear up for a child or someone who doesn’t camp all that much. As a kid I would have been thrilled to have something like this!

One of these, a sleeping pad and they are set for most of the year.

Review Cons :

If purchasing used, be prepared to wash and possibly repair. Replacing buttons is common.

These are military surplus items and there is a possibility of the military surplus smell. It’s unique to surplus and luckily it does go away with enough use.

Mine was fairly strong when I got it in 7 years ago but it’s completely gone.

Fair amount of air can make its ways through the zipper

Taller and Larger individuals will have some problems here; Too tall and it won’t cover you properly, too wide and it won’t cover you properly.
My tallest buddy is 6’3” and 250lbs and he has no issues with his. I would say around 300lbs and this would be tight.

Heavy

Summary :

To sum up this review, this is a great product but like most things it may not be for everyone. If you don’t mind the size though it’s a versatile piece of kit that’s still fairly inexpensive to find…..but who knows how much longer that will be for.

I’m glad that I own it and I can easily recommend it; it gets my thumbs up for sure.

OneTigris Tent Camping Cot :
Agenda Free Link : https://www.onetigris.com/foldable-camping-cot.html

Price : $160

Colors : Coyote and Black

Materials :
420D Oxford Fabric
7075 Alumunym Alloy

Weight : 8.5lbs

Weight Capacity : 330

Impressions so far :
Quality seems to be excellent
Adjustable height
Very tight laying platform
Side Pockets good size
Storage bag is of a good size
Weight isn’t bad considering the size of this cot. Some cots that are comparable in size are rather heavy with some being over 20lbs. The weight of this cot is virtually the same as the Alps Mountaineering cot that I like so much but this is substantially more adjustable.

Negatives

Setup process is lengthy - it takes time and also some muscle. I have an injured arm and find the setup to be difficult.

Large form factor

Not a unique design - when I saw that OT had brought a cot to the market, I was thinking that the design looked familiar; other companies offer the same product and they are less expensive. In some cases, around $50 less expensive but I will admit, the OneTigris version looks better. Aterpa is one such brands. If weight is important, this brand may be something that you want to check out as it features a different top fabric which is just as strong but is a few pounds lighter.

In a world of copycat products it is a bit disappointing to see that nothing new has been done here with this cot design but with that being said, what is present is makes makes a good quality cot.

This cot is going into testing now and I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences in the future along with adventures with this product.

This NatureHike Sleeping Pad is Terrible! - NatureHike "Ultralight" Two ...

This is the one sleeping pad that I would NOT recommend that you purchase!

It's heavy, it takes up a lot of space, it isn't comfortable and it requires a lot of fooling around to get it inflated.

This is the Agenda Free Review of the Double Sided "Ultralight" NatureHike Sleeping Pad.

NatureHike Ultralight Double Sided Sleeping Pad - Review

Agenda Free Review :
https://www.amazon.com/Naturehike-Ultralight-Backpacking-Pad-Compact-Inflatable/dp/B088365PKN

Price : Retail is $70 but at the time of filming it is selling for $50.

Colors : Blue and Grey

Materials : 40D Nylon with TPU coating.

Weight : 2.1lbs

Dimensions Stored : 12” x 4.5”

Stated Dimensions : 76.77 x 24.4 x 3.1inch
Real Dimensions 1 side : 75” x 23.75” x 2.5” but with gaps in between air pockets

Half and Half : same dimensions but there are gaps in between air pockets are filled.

For best results inflate both sides equally; for me that’s roughly 7 breathes on each side.

Double Sided :
This is not a unique feature as there are some companies who have attempted this before. In case you haven’t seen a pad like this before, the pad has a divider in the center that separates the front from the back.

On the front and the back, you will find air valves and that’s because you can inflate both sides and you can do this in numerous ways;

Inflate all of one side or the other or partially inflate both sides.

Why you may ask? The thinking is this, let's say that you are out for a trip and you puncture one side of the pad, that side may go flat but the other side won't.

Again, this is not a unique design and in truth, while creative this functionality doesn’t translate to a comfortable pad and causes a great deal of fooling around.

Review Pros :
Quality is good.
Materials used are good.
With enough time, this pad can be made comfortable enough to sleep on.
Repair patch is included
Valve has an air release stopper so you can inflate and take breaks without the pad losing air. Also, this allows for quick and easy adjustments so you can make a pad softer if need be.
Quick air release valve works well
Inflation takes about 14 breaths, 7 on each side.
It is a long pad good for individuals 6ft and shorter

Review Cons :
Weight - NH loves to refer to this as being lightweight and ultralight; that is complete nonsense as this pad is heavy at over 2lbs. 2lbs might not sound like much but let's put this into perspective, NH has 1 person tents that weigh about the same as this pad.

The company also claims that it has a small size….that really depends on what you are comparing it to. For a summer sleeping pad, it is on the large size.

For the money, you can get MUCH lighter pads that are equally as comfortable or more so.

Talking about comfort, with both sides being inflated I had issues with my body touching the ground. While better than having one side fully inflated, the pad isn’t all that comfortable especially when you consider the weight. It would be a good thickness for an ultralight sleeping pad but that isn’t what this.

This is a 2.1lb sleeping pad that only offers 2.75” of cushion;
Let me put it this way, the lighter in weight you are the more comfortable it will be. The heavier that you are, the less comfortable it will be as your body pushes through the material into the ground.

As a frame of reference, I weigh 160lbs and as I move on this pad, I hit the ground in numerous spots.

Summary :
I’ve said a lot about this pad so I will wrap this up.
Do I recommend this sleeping pad?
No I don’t!

I said it earlier, there are less expensive pads out there that are just as comfortable or more so.

This pad requires too much time to inflate and has a high fiddle rating. I may have just invented a new category; in other words, to inflate this pad it takes a lot of time and a sleeping pad simply should be that way.

Also, a double sided sleeping really is a gimmick; over the last 10 years how many air mats have i had develop leaks? 2! One was a real leak after tons of use and the other was a defect with a product. That’s it!

For the most part, as long as you aren’t dragging your pad through a briar patch, you’ll be fine. If you have a pad and you have hiked the AT twice, then it might be time to think about it wearing thin.

Camping - Prepping - Overland : Camplux Dual Fuel Camping Stove

Today Luke is reviewing a stove which could easily be used for any purpose including camping, overland, survival, prepping and more.

This is the Agenda Free Review of the Camplux Dual Fuel Camping Stove;

Propane and Butane!

Camplux Dual Fuel Camping Stove
Agenda Free Link : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMQ9PMX/ Colors : Blue and Black

Price : Blue is $35 and Black is $37 at the time of filming

Weight in Case : Right at 5lbs

Stove alone is around 3.5lbs

BTU’s : 7,200BTU

Measurement : 13 x 11.2x 3.14 inch Fuels : 8 oz and 16 oz propane or 8.8oz butane cans. Who Makes These : My suspicions is that there is one company who makes this stove for everyone else as there are countless companies who make models which look exactly the same.

Review Pros :

Runs on two types of fuel.

Does exactly what I have wanted it to do; turn on when I want it to and turn off when I want it to while being able to heat, boil and cook.

Price isn’t bad -but there are less expensive versions of this stove available; I can’t comment on the quality of those models but I may check one out in the future.

Easy to use

Small form factor

Great for camping, overlanding and even emergency use.

Very efficient – one can of butane lasted me almost 2 hours with a variety of cooking and boiling projects.

Good size burner allows for virtually any size pot or pan to be used.

Excellent output; I’ve never had an issue with boiling water for coffee quickly or with cooking a full fledged meal.

Ignition has always worked.

Cons :

Flimsy feelings and that goes for the stove and the carry case.

Gas connection area features a door which feels very cheap and never is fully latched shut.

While you can adjust the intensity of the burner, there is a rather large zone where you should be able to simmer but rather, the burner simply goes out.

The company claims that this stove has excellent wind resistance; that isn’t accurate in my opinion. If it is a windy day, I would suggest setting up some sort of wind block.

This product like many products on Amazon features a lot of fake reviews; according to review analytic sites, roughly 60% of the reviews are fake for this product which is obvious when reading them.

Summary :

Ultimately if you purchase this stove, this is what you are getting;

- a dual fuel stove for a low price

- a cheap flimsy build

- functional stove.

For the $35 that I spent, I consider it an excellent buy...if I paid any more the fit and finish of this stove would justify a refund but for $35, it’s just good enough. I purchased this in January and have used it dozens of times in all sorts of conditions; in the rain, in the snow and in very hot conditions. Never had a problem.

It should be known that there are more powerful versions of this stove out there; for an example, Gas One has a 15,000 BTU version of this stove which costs $60.

MOLLE Panels? OneTigris Folding Table - Review

Support TOGR with Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TOGR

Many have been waiting for the review of the OneTigris Folding Table to go live and today is the day! Pros, Cons, and Completely Agenda Free! This is the OneTigris Folding Table Review!

Link : https://www.onetigris.com/portable-camping-table.html
Price : $68.00
Weight with Side Panels : 2lbs 11.8oz
Weight without Side Panels : 2lbs 1.oz
Camo : Multicam
Materials : MultiCam® 500D Cordura Nylon, 7075 Aluminum Alloy Frame
Measurements – Setup : 15” tall, 15.7” wide, 22.4” long,
Measurements – Stored : 17” x 5.1”
Measurements Utility Panel : 50.4”x12.6”
From the Company :
An essential item for the outdoors that’s easy to piece together, easy to dismantle for storage, and highly lightweight for efficient carry. The MultiCam® shade camping table is constructed from USA licensed MultiCam® 500D Cordura Nylon fabric with quality 7075 aluminum alloy framing. Outdoor enthusiasts would appreciate the simplicity and affordability of this bit of kit that offers comfort, convenience and excellent taste when you’re out enjoying the wild. We’ve included 2 tool organizers that can be draped on the sides for storing your phone, snacks and other small items, a highly practical feature when cooking outdoor meals or making coffee.
Review Pros :
Onetigris makes an excellent table

Quality is top notch
Fairly easy Setup and break down is easy – it can be a bit awkward with the pulling of the stability bars as they can come apart.
Weight is good but it isn’t ultralight
Review Cons :
Storage bag is right at the point of being too small – without the side panels removed, it’s a good fit but with them, it can be taxing to get it all to fit.
Side panels for myself haven’t been useful and in fact, I have set them up on numerous occasions but never used them. They are so low to the ground that for most people they are going to be hard to use; for tall individuals and older ones, they may not simply not work
Expensive – while I haven’t seen any companies who make a product similar in design to this one, there are folding tables out on the market which are far less expensive. Some less than $20.
Not ultralight and in fact, there are much lighter weight tables out on the market. Tables that are lighter but also much less expensive.
Summary :
Overall I have really enjoyed using this table and in fact, I have received countless emails concerning it. I used it for day hikes, overlanding, and for backpack trips. For backpacking purposes, it is a bit heavy unless you are willing to take this as a luxury item.
Perfect for day camps.
I would like to see a cheaper version of this table that doesn’t have the side panels; speaking of which, my only real issue with this table is the cost; $70 is a lot of money and my question for you all is this;
Is it worth it to you? With TOGR, I am agenda free and it isn’t my place to say whether or not you should spend your money on an item; I share my thoughts, feelings, findings and experiences and you can make up your mind from there.

Worth $30? - Coleman Folding Table - Overland and Car Camping

Support TOGR with Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TOGR

This is the Coleman Folding Table and Luke is here to go over the pros and cons and as a bonus, he has a hilarious online review to share concerning it.

That is why you never trust an Amazon Review.

Agenda Free Linkhttps://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Outdoor-Compact-Table/dp/B00VWA1XZ8

Price : $28 at the time of filming

Weight : 9 lbs. 8 oz.

Materials : Aluminum and Plastic Construction top – Steel Frame

Features : A Slat Top

Includes : A carry bag

Weight capacity : 100 lbs

Folded Size : 5.5" x 5.5" x 27.5"

Measurements – Grab Tape Measure

Color : Silver only

…………….

Uses : Perfect for car camping, beach, hunting camp, RV and so on.  Too heavy to backpack with naturally.

……………..

Pros :

Easy to setup – takes 2 minutes or less once you know what you are doing.

Excellent size for a car camping table

Excellent price – there are a lot of rather inexpensive tablets out there and at the same time, there are a lot of very expensive ones with some running over $100 easy.

Surprisingly stable considering the weight capacity and the weigh of the table itself. Wont tip over unless you personally do something strange with it.

With my use so far, no staining.

Easy to clean

Folds up nice and small

Easy to break down

Because of the materials and coating, you will not have issues with rust.

…………………………

Cons :

Coleman says that it is perfect for 4 people; in my opinion, no.  2 people yes with full size plates. 4 people would have to use smaller plates for there to be enough room on all 4 sides.

Surface can be scratched and if you slide something course enough across it, it will scar it

Because of the design, it isn’t possible to put your legs under the table unless you have a really low chair.  There is enough space to store gear, a cooler and so on under the table though.

Due to the slated design, it can be troublesome to cut on it; most people will have zero problems with this as I have personally used it as a cutting board with not problems.

While I haven’t had an issue yet, I could see the plastic caps on the bottom of the legs popping off.

The weak point is the elastic cording that holds the table together.  Luckily if you had a problem with this a repair shouldn’t be that difficult.  The plastic pieces are also of a concern.

Could be a little taller; I’m short and I could feel my back beginning to burn a bit after hunching over to food prep.

….

Summary :

The low cost of this table makes it an excellent option for many uses and it is a Coleman product which means that the warranty actually means something.   There are a very companies which have tables with the same design, most of them are Chinese companies and are even more expensive.  Alps Mountaineering has a version which looks to be the same but I have to admit that I haven’t seen it up close so I can’t comment on differences but it costs over twice as much.

……………………

Mentionable Funny Review :

When it comes to Amazon reviews, you have to take them with a grain of salt and that’s because companies can hire other companies to leave positive feedbacks for their products.  Competitor products can also hire companies to leave negative reviews for competitor products and when I was getting my details together for this review, I saw one which I felt was funny enough to mention;

Total waste of time and money, unless you are backpacking. Don't waste your money on this, and forget trying to return it, that won't work out well for you! The table is extremely difficult to assemble, and when assembled, it is very flimsy!

Sportneer Adjustable and Non Adjustable Foldable Chairs

Support TOGR with Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TOGR

Today Luke is reviewing two foldable chairs from Sportneer; one is Adjustable and the other is not.....but does it really make a difference?

Which one does he recommend?

Find out now!

Agenda Free Link Adjustable Version : https://www.sportneer.com/product/Sportneer-Folding-Camping-Chair-with-Adjustable-Legs-1-Pack

Agenda Free Non Adjustable Version : https://www.sportneer.com/product/Sportneer-Portable-Folding-Camping-Chair-1-Pack

Adjustable Price : Retail is $34 for 1 or $53 for 2

Non-Adjustable Price : $30

Weight of Adjustable : 2lb 5.2oz

Weight of Non Adjustable : 1lb 15oz

Colors : Black and Orange

Features :

Material : Aluminum +60D Nylon

The frame made of heavy-duty aluminum ensures stability and durability of this camping chair. Also, each camping chair comes with small attached storage bags to keep your small accessories organized.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE : Sportneer folding camping chair has 3 adjustable height level:

I measure approx. 13" at the lowest, 14", 15" at the highest content you different heights need, give you better seat experience.

Non adjustable version sits at approx. 13.5”

ULTRALIGHT & COMPACT : These portable chairs can be folded into a small piece of 14.25" x 5.25" including the carry-on bag and still weights 2 lbs. It is extremely easy to carry during outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and backpacking

EASY SET-UP : Aluminum shock-cord pole structure makes this camping chair for quick intuitive setup

WEIGHT CAPACITY : This robust chair is capable of taking weight up to 350 lbs. This heavy duty chair is a necessity for campers, hikers, backpackers, adventurers and anyone who loves outdoor activities

Review Pros :

For the money, excellent quality.

Have held up without any issues with all of our use.

Easy to setup; easy enough to do so without instructions – takes a minute

Stable when on flat and semi-flat ground

Adjustable

Comfortable – not oversized and I like that – there are a lot of camping chairs and some are overly huge – you’ll see people sitting in them and they are swallowed in material

Light enough to hike with and to carry; I like to bring one with me on day hikes

When sitting on a hill or any other uneven surface the adjustable legs are a must!

Review Cons :

Low profile even with being adjustable.

For large users, they may want a larger size chair to be really comfortable.

Heavy storage back; you can drop some weight by not using it

Storage bag is a little small; can take some work to get the chair back into it.

Legs can be a bit finicky to adjust as you have to hold the leg with one hand and pull with the other.

Summary :

When it comes to small backpacking chairs, there are numerous companies who make similar products with some of them being really, really expensive.  This is a budget friendly version which offers you very good quality for the money.

Excellent for day hikes and if you don’t mind carrying the weight, overnight trips too.

Car camping, fishing, hunting, etc.

When it comes the two chairs, the adjustable one is the version that I would select as it’s only a few dollars more and the legs allow for versatility that the other version doesn’t.  The height differences between the two is so little, it really doesn’t matter as you won’t notice the difference but for setting up on uneven terrain, this does give you options.

Also, it has pocket for your drink and so on.

It is slightly heavier than the  non adjustable version but only slightly and in my opinion, with the adjustable version, there really isn’t a need for the non adjustable version especially since they are so similar in terms of design, weight and cost.  Think of the adjustable version as the upgraded version and the non as the old gen.

Japanese Fire Pit - Snow Peak Pack and Carry Fireplace Review

Japanese Design and Japanese Quality!
This is my review of the Snow Peak Pack & Carry Fireplace!

Agenda Free Link : https://snowpeak.com/collections/fireplace-grills/products/pack-and-carry-l-fire-place-st-032

Cost : Retail $190.

Weight : 11.9 lbs (5.4 kg)

Sizes : This is the Large version but there is a small and medium available

Material : 1.5 mm thick chrome coated steel - Stainless Steel

Dimensions :  17.75" W 17.75" H 13"

Size Stowed : L 22" W 1.7" x H 25"

Contents Include : Fireplace and Nylon Case

Made In : Japan

…..

Attachments :

Base plates for ashes

Grill grates

And more.

By the way, any grill grate will work perfectly so if you want to save some money and go with a less expensive wire option you can.  You can also use any sort of pan or plate to prevent the burning of grass, ground and containment.

Uses : Car camping, rv, hunting, overland, heat, cooking, tail gating, rafting, etc

Pros :
Compact design

Operates perfectly – plenty of air holes

Easy to setup

Easy to ignite

Easy to add wood too.

Easy to clean

Exceptional Warranty!

Add a grill to and you can easily cook

Smartly designed

Very stable

Excellent materials

Top notch quality – there are a lot of rinky dink fireplaces out on the market, this isn’t one.

Folds flat and can be stored basically anywhere

Lots of attachments available

The large size allows for you to loud the stove up with wood for warmth or control it for cooking

Offers level cooking surface

Excellent heat radiance

Because of the design, you can warm your feet as well as the body when sitting close to it.

Cons :
Very, very expensive.

Carry bag is nothing to write home about but it works.  If you really fall in love with the stove, a canvas carry bag is available…..at a cost.

Summary :

With this stove, it does come at a price but for that price you are getting a product that will truly last a life time.  It’s heavy duty, very well made and includes one of the best warranties in the business.

Out of the three sizes, my advice would be to go with the large size as it present you with the most options including larger pieces of wood.

After spending my hard earned money on this fire pit, would I do it again?  Absolutely!  It’s an incredibly well made piece of gear which offers you the perfect balance of portability, function and strong construction.  All of which comes at a price!

Japanese Folding Table - SOTO FieldHopper Mini Pop Up Table ST-630 - Review

Support TOGR with Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TOGR

Luke has been testing out a Japanese Folding Table for the last couple of months and it is time for the review!  This is the SOTO Field Hopper Mini Pop-Up Table (ST-630).

Agenda Free Link : https://sotooutdoors.com/product/field-hopper/

Price : Retail price is $40. At the time of filming it was $62 on amazon but it was $36 on Campsaver.

Weight : 14.1oz with bag

Materials : Table Top: Aluminum. Legs: Stainless steel – Nylon storage bag

Measurements -

When Open : W 11.7 x D 8.3 x H 3.1 inches

When stowed : W 11.7 x D 4.3 x H 0.7 inches

……………….

Book style table which opens and closes….like a book.

Can be used for just about anything; I like to bring this along when I am going to be doing some cooking as it makes an excellent surface to prep and to cook on.  If you are going to use it to cook on, you may need a tall wind screen to block out the wind.

You can even dual use it; for an example, you could use it as a night stand in your tent; put your phone on it, you glasses, whatever you have in you pockets.  That’s just an example that comes to mind.

If you use a tarp for camping or a tent without a floor, this gives you a clean/dry place to place some items so that they don’t get muddy.

Pros :

Excellent quality
Excellent design
Slim
Compact
Easy to deploy and put up
Good sized storage bag – large enough for table and a windscreen
Sturdy
Not flimsy at all

Cons :

A little heavy – definitely a luxury item

Costly but at the same time, comparable to other products that are on the market.  There are a handful of similar products and most of them are around the same cost.

If you want one of these, make sure to pay attention to the details so that you don’t pay too much for these.  You can find them on Ebay but the shipping fees can be high.  The same applies for Amazon; some sellers charge for shipping, some don’t.
