For ultralight backpackers, carrying razor blades instead of knives is fairly common; for myself, I will always carrying a knife but I do like to carry a razor blade in reserve just in case.

Mystery Ranch Hot 3 Pack - Preview
Today we are discussing the Mystery Ranch Hot 3 Pack which was seen in the Paradise Found Overnight Adventure.
...
Link : http://www.mysteryranch.com/hot-3-pack
The Hot 3 is designed specifically for wildland fire crews. We originally worked with the Los Padres Hotshots to build a pack that rides low on the back and distributes weight through the wearer’s hips and core to maintain mobility and balance during the widely varied operations encountered in the fire environment.
When it comes to my perspective of this pack it is from a backpackers point of view. Not from a firefighters. So as we go through this video please keep that in mind.

This jacket is simply awesome!
Extremely warm for the weight.
Not bulky.
Athletic fit.
I can wear this down to roughly 25 degrees without any other layers other than a t-shirt.
I like the color combination and the design of this jacket is aggressive. Typically with down jackets you have the baffles that go horizontally. With the vertical baffles you retain more heat and have less cool spots.
This is a pricey jacket but it’s a great jacket. The downtek needs to be explained a bit as I have seen some rather strange reviews for this online. Some apparently believe that this jacket is waterproof because of the downtek but that isn’t the case. It’s water repellant, not waterproof. This isn’t a rain jacket. It isn’t made to keep you dry in a wet snow. In other words it will soak through. The zipper are not waterproof.
What downtek does is this; it will keep you warm in moist, wet conditions. Light weight snow. Fine. Light sprinkle. Fine. Fog, fine.
Rain, no. Wet snow, no.
