OneTigris refers to this as the Big Bear 63L Bushcraft Backpack and we should get this out of the way…there is nothing about this pack that is suitable for bushcraft purposes.

What it is : This is a lightweight, small form factor solid fuel stove - I love stoves like this and while this isn’t overly unique it is highly versatile and for the money, they are hard to beat.
Thank you to Theo who sent this in for me to review, thank you brother!
Esbit is a German company who has been making stoves for over 75 years for both civilian and military applications. The original stove was developed in the 1930’s and since then has been used by outdoorsmens/women, military forces, rescue organizations and even humanitarian groups.
Fuel Tablets are Hexamine which is toxic to breathe in.
Size : 4.5” x 3.25” roughly an 1” deep
Review Pros :
- Plain and simple, this is an awesome stove!
- Easy to setup, easy to break down.
- The fuel is easy to ignite; not the easiest but with a steady flame it will be burning.
Also, Hexamine works great at high elevations and in sub-zero conditions.
Good quality stove
Very lightweight
Inexpensive
Can be used with other fuels not just those from Esbit - also multiple sizes.
Offers good wind resistance.
Can hold multiple fuel tablets
Because the walls are retractable, you can use this with many sizes of pots, pans and cups.
Review Cons :
Fuel - it’s toxic to breathe in when it is burning and it absolutely stinks. Smells like shrimp even though the package. When I’m out with this type of stove and fuel, I will double bag it….for my protection! Lol
Talking about the fuel, it can be hard to ignite in windy conditions
Summary :
These little stoves are great for those who want to go out on adventures with a lightweight, small form factor stove and fuel solution. Inexpensive, simple to use, compact and fuel is easily available.
Note : Esbit has multiple Pocket Stoves; a small, medium and large. In my opinion, the medium is the sweet spot but in truth, you’re not going to see a massive difference in any of them. There is only an inch difference between the smallest and the largest.
There are other companies who make similar stoves such as BCB; there are very few differences between them all.
Is the Eberlestock Terminator Pack still worth buying today even after so many excellent military/tactical packs have come to the market? This is a followup review of my thoughts concerning this pack in what I am sure is to be controversial to some.
Is it still worth buying? Find out what I think now!
Colors : Coyote Brown, Dry Earth, Military Green, Multicam which costs $45 extra
NSN# 8465-01-600-5068 assigned December 6, 2011 and the issued packs were olive green in color from what I was able to learn.
Total Volume: 4,100 c.i. (67 Liters)
Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz
Dimensions main bag: 23"h x 12"w x 10"d
Materials : 1000D and 500D Nylon combo. YKK Zippers
Pros :
Roomy - but not as much as you would think
Can be comfortable even with a heavy weight but the pack isn’t perfect in this regards and I will talk more about that in a moment.
Excellent quality.
Can Carry a TON of WEIGHT and does so well.
Durability is excellent as this pack has taken a beating over the years and continues one like it was new.
Adjustable which means that it can be tailored for shorter and taller individuals.
Ability to carry a scabbard when you need to.
Removable buttpack is great.
Cons :
Not Waterproof so you will need to plan ahead if rain is a possibility.
Large and Very Heavy. For only a 67L pack, it’s huge!
Complicated – LOTS of POCKETS
Expensive.
Sleeping bag compartment is a bit small which is surprising for how large this pack is. If you want to carry the modular sleep system for an example, it will have to be carried on the outside as it will not fit.
Because of the design of the pack and the back-panel, it has a tendency to sway side to side and that brings down the comfort rating in my opinion. While it is still comfortable the pack never really feels like it is a part of you which is truly very important….or it is for me at least. When I throw a pack on my back, I want it to become a turtle shell, not something that can move independently with the shifting of the weight. There are packs that allow for movement like the Bora from Arc’teryx that that level of movement is different than this as the Terminator feels uncontrolled where as the Bora is the opposite; very controlled.
As with all products, they are not made for everyone so my question for you all is this, is the Terminator pack made for you?
Buying Tip : Want to save some money on one of these packs, look on eBay as it is common to find these for sale for less than $250 very often.

It has become increasingly clear to me over the last couple of months that there are a lot of people who are seeking out inexpensive shelter options which offer full protection and are of good quality. A shelter system for backpacking, camping, bugging out and even bushcraft doesn’t have to be expensive and this is one of those options.
Total Cost : Will vary depending on where you purchase and condition :
Should easily be able to put it together for around $120 give or take.
Total weight of the system minus guy lines and stakes will be around 4lbs
This system provides full bug protection and full weather protection at a decent cost. With the proper knowledge on tarp setups, you can enjoy the full benefits of a tent setup but with the variety and versatility of a tarp.
Cost : Purchased on Amazon these run $100 new but you can easily find used military surplus on ebay for around $60.
** If you purchase used, make sure the quality is good.

98600 - Burrow IBNS - Coyote Brown - Import98627 - Burrow IBNS - Coyote Brown - Berry Compliant Made in USA
NSN: 3740-01-543-5652
The Improved Bed Net System (IBNS) was originally designed to fit securely onto a military cot with webbing and side release buckles on all four corners. After initial fielding, we were informed that Marines liked the product so much that they were deploying it in the field as well. In response, we ruggedized the design, creating the capability to add a rainfly. We have since delivered hundreds of thousands on contract. After yet another round of improvements, we are proud to re-introduce the Burrow™ IBNS with enhanced capability, more user friendly features, and improved parts and fittings.
The Burrow’s instant deployment and cot compatibility make it an efficient, fast-access shelter to protect users from insects and a great shelter for medical patients in the field. It is EPA registered and has Permethrin bonded to the material for insect repellency. The Burrow is supported by a strong and ultra-light .134” diameter pultruded fiberglass rod which winds through the shelter, expanding it to its given shape. When the rolled up Burrow’s cinch strap is removed, the shelter is released and snaps into shape automatically. No assembly or set-up is required.
Can be turned into a tent with some rather pricey additional purchases.

Dishwasher-safe, eco-friendly, high-quality stainless steel water bottles from Klean Kanteen offer a great alternative to plastic and lined metal bottles. Constructed of food-grade #304 stainless steel, Kleen Kanteen bottles are BPA-free and 100 percent recyclable. An all-stainless steel interior, 18/8 stainless caps, and stainless steel threads mean the bottles won't retain or leach flavors, so you get a fresh, clean, crisp drink every time. Because Klean Kanteen bottles are constructed of food-grade stainless steel, they're not coated with a plastic or epoxy lining like aluminum bottles. The new wide mouth line of bottles have an opening more than two inches in diameter, which makes filling, pouring, and cleaning the bottle a cinch, and the universal thread design works with most standard backcountry water filters without an adapter. With the Klean Kanteen Wide, you have even more earth- and body-friendly choices. They come in five sizes, ranging from 12 to 64 ounces, and all come in pure, shiny brushed stainless steel. The wide bottles are shorter and more compact than Klean Kanteen Classic bottles but incorporate the same slim design, meaning sizes up to 27 ounces fit in most cup holders. They also come standard with the Stainless Loop Cap, which works seamlessly with the S-Biner, so it's a snap to clip it right onto a shoulder strap or pack. Easy filling, pouring, and cleaning Doesn't retain or leach flavors

The purpose of this bag is for when you have to get out of dodge as the saying goes. In other words this is a bug out bag and it’s perfect for those who like to prep and for those who love tactical gear. Like myself.
I also see this for another use; Vehicle Emergency Bag. Food, water, blanket, some tools, duct tape, stove, flash light, batteries, etc. Here in the mountains where I live, it’s common to carry with you an emergency bag especially in the winter. Storms come in, they are hard to forecast and they close roads all the time.
This pack was designed to be worn as a back pack and to be carried as a duffle bag. This is incredibly smart. You can use it at the airport as part of your luggage today and your bug out bag tomorrow.
Dual zippers
Molle/pals compatible
Bug out bag
Hidden shoulder straps for bugging out
Urban and outdoor compatible
Drop top handle for use as a duffel
Made of durable 600D polyester with plastic buckles and neoprene handle
