Today Luke is reviewing the AYADA Gas Stove which is a very budget friendly canister stove.

Is it worth $20?

Agenda Free Link : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQGRQ5M

Price : $22

Weight : 9.5oz for the stove alone -  11.5oz with case

Max Support Weight : 20lbs

BTUS : 3,500 watts / 11,942 BTU’s

Pros :

Compact for the size of the stove.

Quality is excellent for the price.

Performance is excellent for the price – can simmer, rocket boil and anywhere in between.

Excellent for boiling water for coffee or slow cooking onions and garlic in a frying pan.

Not A Con - Small cups and pots will get extremely hot as heat comes over the sides; can melted the handle to whatever you put on there.  Works better with larger pots and pans.

Performs well enough in breezing conditions; if windy you will want a wind screen; either make one or bring one. – has an integrated wind screen.

No issues from the ignitor.

Fast boiling times; two liters of water in roughly 2 minutes.  Of course, timing varies on outdoor conditions.

Cons :

Storage box is a pain to open and to close.  Pinching fingers is a real possibility

It isn’t the most stable of stoves; if you are careful you won’t have any issues though – I do wish that the pot support legs jutted out further which would make whatever you put on it more sable.

Summary :

While not the first stove that I grab when it comes to a solo backpacking adventure, it is one that I think about for trips where I am with other people or if I was planning to do a lot of cooking.  The power and adjustability of this stove is excellent.

I haven’t heard of this brand before so there is no telling how reliability will be going into the future as the company doesn’t have much of a track record.  Also, they don’t seem to have a web site so you warranty is basically as long as you can return it to Amazon.  Something to consider.  So far it looks great though and I have had no problems with this stove and I have been testing it out for months now.
