Vargo Titanium Triad XE Multi-Fuel Stove - Review Update

In this episode, I’m updating the review for the Vargo Titanium Triad XE Stove.

In this video I won’t be going over the specs or product details as that has been done in the previous review. If you are interested in that information, there is a link in the description box below to that video.

In the past I reviewed this stove primarily in regards to the alcohol stove and the base plate and in this Review Update I’m returning to speak about solid fuel performance.  Does it change my review?  Let’s dive in and find out.

To get to the point, the Triad XE as an Alcohol Stove is very poor all the way around and the Triad XE as a solid fuel stove is just as poor.

In the end, being light weight is this stove’s greatest asset but it performs so poorly you might has well leave it at home and build a solid fuel stand out of rocks.  Now that is what I call going ultralight!

The biggest glaring problem with this stove when being used as a solid fuel stove is the tripod design.  The legs make this prone to tipping over.  Depending on the the pot that you cook with, it can be even worse than you imagine.

When you are say boiling water, I would have to watch it extremely closely make sure that the boiling vibrations didn’t cause the pot to fall over.

The legs are stiff, very hard to move especially when your hands are cold.
