Phone Skope PYRO Putty Emergency Survival Fire Starter
What it is : According to the company this product is an emergency fire starter that is easier to use than the competition, more efficient, non-toxic, waterproof and weather resistant and will burn through sleet, rain, and wind.

Agenda Free Link : https://www.amazon.com/Phone-Skope-Emergency-Survival-Starter/dp/B07QMGJTR6

Price : Super Expensive for the amount of fire starter that you get - $13

Weight : 2oz Can

Materials : I have no idea what they have used to make this; they claim it is nontoxic on the amazon listing but that’s not true. More on this point in a moment.

Versions : The company has different variations of this product which they claim works better in different conditions. For an example, this is the “winter blend” and it is designed to work in temps from -20F to 90F.

Fun Fact, the packaging says -10 but the web site says -20F. Some variants are designed…according to the company to work best in temps of 30F all the way up to 100F. Others are best up to 110F.

In other words, there is a ton of marketing Mumbai jumbo concerning this stuff. All of it, complete Bullshit.

Amazon Reviews :
Before I purchased this product to review, I was considering it and while doing so I was looking at the reviews on Amazon and what stood out to me were two points;

This product has thousands and thousands of positive reviews
But when you start going through those reviews there are tons and tons of negative reviews present.

I looked into this and used sites that analyze reviews on sites like amazon and this doesn’t surprise me at all; virtually all of the reviews on Amazon are completely fake.

The Amazon rating for this product is 4.5 stars but when the fake reviews are removed, it sits at 1.5 stars.

All sites that I used for analyze these reviews stated that the reviews present are highly deceptive, only 40% were legit and those are negative.

Review Pros :
None! Don’t buy it.

Review Cons :

Company Claims :

The company states that this is non-toxic; that’s a lie and is again another example of the marketing BS from this company.

On the can, it states that this product and the chemicals used are known to cause cancer and that it should be used in well ventilated areas. Don’t breathe it in. Releases carbon monoxide.

Claims that it is totally waterproof

“Designed to burn through sleet, rain, wind, high altitudes, and a wide range of temperatures”

Wind Performance?

Quarter size dab - what does that mean? A quarter is flat …… maybe they mean a large size marble size

Company States - Stay safe out there without slowing yourself down with propane, complicated fire starters, or lighters that need to be recharged.

What does propane have to do with a fire starter?
What is a complicated fire starter?
Lighters that have to be recharged? There is so much wrong with all of this…..

The Company State - This fire starter fuel will burn in any weather or circumstances. Such broad claims are always BS!

This is a very expensive fire starter and I would not recommend this to anyone in any situation. Make up some cotton balls and Vaseline and you’ll be good to go. Buy this and you’re wasting your money.

Also, it leaves your fingers very greasy and colored after handling.
