Christmas Campfire Chronicles : Episode 4

You're welcome to join my son and I for a special Christmas edition of the Campfire Chronicles.  Happy Holidays everyone!

  1. Lucas: "Alright everybody, it's time to go..."
Translation: "Ya don't have to go home but ya can't stay here." Haven't laughed so hard at a video in a long time; Thanks Luke and Lucas. By the way, how was that Taster's Nasty flavored beef broth and chocolate-colored smoky dawgwater? Dang Luke, heating water for drinks outta that bowl was about a smart as... well... watching my computer's power supply die horribly and thinking "hey, this shiny new PSU with Japanese capacitors and a 10 year warranty has enough pixie dust to bring my motherboard back to life!" ...and watching the lights dim when hit the power button. Thank God the EVGA Supernova 850 G2 is nine pounds of iron and copper kissed by angels. Your guts and my new power supply are still alive and well, and now we can all laugh about it. To commemorate our moments of dim-bulb inspiration, I humbly suggest a new name for your concoction: Blond Moment Surprise.

On a more serious note, Lucas has an AMAZING talent on the keyboard! That Charlie Brown/Law & Order remix was both creepy and awesome. Seeing that he's obviously a fan of the Final Fantasy games, I'm sure he's played, or at least heard of Chrono Trigger as well. Please do have him look at two tracks from the Chrono Trigger soundtrack for possible additions to this custom work: The Ocean Palace theme and the intro to the Magus Battle theme. Lucas could send a chill down your spine with the piano mode alone, but if that keyboard has Midi ports, or even the ability to record and play back loops, he's got the talent to compose a remix that would make the Phantom of the Opera shiver. As a lover of music, especially the haunting kind, I'm looking forward to seeing more of his work on the Outdoor Gear Review. If the bug bites him hard enough, he can get a lot of helpful tips and advice on the forums at ocremix, a site dedicated to producing remixes of popular video game music. Some of the artists who release their music on that site are so gifted, their work wouldn't be out of place in major motion picture soundtracks.

Anyway, I think I'll go for a mere letter of a post rather than a full-length book, and say thanks again for another wonderful video, great laughs, and a first glimpse into your son's amazing gift. God bless you, Luke, and Merry Christmas.

  2. Great vid...felt like I was sitting at the campfire with you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well, Luke.
