  2. Hey Luke
Really enjoying your videos and learning a lot. I'd like to know more about water purification, boiling time, and other methods. I'd also like to find a good set of AT maps but there are quite a few on the market. Any suggestions? What web sites do you use for AT info prior to a trip?
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hi, Luke. Nikica from Macedonia here. I’ve been meaning to write you for a while now. I just got into hacking recently and you have been of great help. I guess what I would like to see more on The Outdoor Gear Review is a chance for other people too to post videos or photos of theirs favorites hacking trips. I don’t expect I’ll win your giveaway since I’m a half world away, but I presume you’ll be pleased to know you’ve been able to help someone from the other side of the ocean. Keep up the good work.

  4. Hello Luke,
I stumbled on your videos by pure dumb luck, and after watching the first one (where the apple tree fell on you in the night), I subscribed and look forward to new vids by you. My sons have both been in the scouts and they love the outdoors like I do, and they enjoy your vids as well. My question is do you think that the Hillenberg ATKO is worth the money that it costs, i am looking to get a well made one person4 season tent, and they have a life time waranty on them. And I hear nothing but praise for them by thoes who use them., any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks you for letting us tag along with you on your trips and keep up the good work.

  6. Hi Luke,

I happened to stumble upon your video of hiking the Appalachian Trail on youtube and have enjoyed watching the rest of your videos. I'm a novice backpacker and have enjoyed a few trips with my son's Boy Scout Troop. Your videos have been helpful and have rekindled my desire to start backpacking again.

I would like to see more reviews on the less expensive packs, tents, and sleeping pads. I've priced some of the gear that you've reviewed and while I think you're doing a fabulous job, they are way out of my price range.

Thanks again for all the tips and videos.

  7. Hi Luke,

Hope everything is well, very first time I am writing my comment here on your website. Was watching your video since your ILBE preview, and that was the vid which motivated me to grab not only a set but two for my hiking buddy and myself. Since then, i had hooked onto your video. Be it a gear review, outdoor experience or short stories near the camp fire, they really makes me learn a lot. Looking forward to have more videos and just some suggestion, as there are many views of yours, can we have a forum for gears discussions or similar chats.

Appropriate for all your hard work buddy.

  11. Hey there Luke,
I was just watching some survival things on youtube and found you on here. Love the video's. Lol, I found myself watching them all night. You do nice camera work too. I can tell you have been doing it a while. I have always wanted to do some video's out in the wild myself. I would like to know what kind of camera gear you use though too. I would like to know more about water purification methods. I am going to have to try those aquamira drops sometime. I also like that method you used with the SteriPEN(adventurer opti). I would also like to see more knives and fire starting methods. I am from Michigan and we have gotten hit with lots of snow this year, so info on the warmer tents and gear would be great. I would like to see a video of all your favorite gear in one video.

    Thanks,
    Chris Bachman
